I came from Beijing, China, and I have been in Canada for nearly ten years. I‘m familiar with the customs of the local people, and understand the difficulties and challenges faced by newcomers to this land. Whether you are a student or young professional, life can be stressful from various aspects, such as language barriers, strange enviroment, and trivial details of life hinder you from devoting yourselves to studies and work. I do what I can to reduce your burdens in terms of clothing, meal preparation, housing and transportation, so that you can enjoy your life overseas. My house is located in a very safe and convenient community, with a public transportation station with only 2 minutes walking distance, the bus that goes directly to the core of the university campus, including Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) , and University of Alberta (UoA), and only a 10-minute walking to King's University. Optional meals include delicious traditional Asian food, Western food and seasonal fruits, balanced with vegetables and protein, which can be customized to adjust the guess's taste. I have a lovely daughter who is currently attending primary school. She is fluent in English and proud of being able to speak Mandarin. She likes drawing, dancing and playing football. She is very expressive and patient, making her an ideal language practise partner for foreign students to practise their spoken English :D. I have two cats who are indoors only and regularly vaccinated and dewormed, they're very friendly. I often bake low-sugar cakes together suitable for Asian tastes. On holidays such as Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas etc, we will also make various desserts with festive characteristics. In addition, I like watercolor painting, and practicing at home in my spare time. Sometimes I volunteer for face-painting for events which has been highly praised. I work in the provincial medical system with a stable job and relatively flexible hours. When there are large-scale cultural events in the local area, if the homestay student friend is interested, she's more than welcome to join us.
